The individual called the SCV Sheriff’s Station saying he received a letter with white residue in it that made him ill, said Sgt. Brian Allen with the SCV Sheriff’s Station.

The white residue was identified as glitter, said Allen.

“He brought it in and set it on our counter, shutting down the station and prompting a hazmat rollout,” said Allen.

The SCV Sheriff’s Station lobby was closed off as well as the outside of the individual’s vehicle, Allen said.

Hazmat was on scene trying to identify the substance, however no product has been found in the envelope so far, said Battalion Chief William McCloud.

“We’re just being overly cautious right now, just in case,” said McCloud.

The SCV Sheriff’s Station is located at 23740 Magic Mountain Pkwy, Santa Clarita, CA 91355.
