First responders reported to the Green Valley area after reports of a crash around 12:25 p.m.

Carlos Veliz, 19, of Lancaster, was pronounced dead at the scene, said an official with the Los Angeles County Department of Coroner.

According to CHP Officer John Lutz, Veliz was driving his Yamaha motorcycle northbound on San Francisquito Canyon Road when he collided with a 2005 Nissan Titan pickup truck.

The driver of the Nissan, an unidentified woman, was traveling on southbound side of the road and sustained minor injuries.

The cause of the crash is still unknown and under investigation but drugs and alcohol are not a factor at this time.
