A brush fire that burned approximately two acres near the southbound 14 between Placerita Canyon Road and Golden Valley Roads has been knocked down.

The blaze started at the side of the freeway near Golden Valley Road and worked its way up toward houses across the freeway from the Golden Valley Plaza shopping center.

Firefighters responded immediately and established a line around the fire, gaining initial control by 12:05 p.m. No structures were damaged.
