Brush Fire Burns Two Acres Along 14 Freeway Near Eternal Valley

Arson investigators are enroute to determine the cause of a  brush fire that burned two acres on a hillside near Sierra Highway and Newhall Avenue this afternoon.


The fire, which started around 1:30, was just south of Eternal Valley Memorial Park, was knocked down by firefighters  within a half-hour. Crews will remain in the area for another hour as a precaution.

A SigAlert was issued for Sierra Highway between Newhall Avenue and Foothill Boulevard, traffic is still moving slowly through the area.

Initial reports from fire officials were that the fuel was medium brush and that the fire was slow-moving, with no wind in the area. No structures were threatened
