Brush Fire In Saugus Quickly Contained

Firefighters work fast to protect nearby homes.

A small brush fire broke out in Saugus shortly before 3 pm, Wednesday. Burning in medium to heavy brush, the fire scorched just under an acre before fire personnel arrived to knock down the blaze. Los Angeles County firefighters were able to contain the fire within an hour using water-dropping helicopters, while ground crews worked to keep the fire from spreading to nearby homes on Scepter Lane, which is located near Haskel Canyon and Copperhill.
