Brush Fire Near Highway 126 Knocked Down

UPDATE: Wednesday, May 13th at 12:53 p.m.

Los Angeles County Fire Department crews have put out a 1/4 acre grass fire near Interstate 5 and Highway 126.

The fire reportedly started when CalTrans was working on a tractor that that caught fire. That information has not been confirmed yet.

The northbound I-5 freeway had to be shut down temporarily between Newhall Ranch Rd. and Hasley Canyon Rd. because smoke hindered visibility for motorists.

The fire was reported on both sides of the I-5, however fire crews were able to knock it out completely within 15 minutes.
