Five suspects – one adult and four juveniles – were taken into custody this afternoon for residential burglary after an alert neighbor saw them inside a vacant home and called deputies.
Deputies responded to a residence in the Cordova Mobile Home Park on Sierra Highway near Soledad Canyon Road and set up a containment after the neighbor said he saw up to four male juveniles inside the house.
“Though teamwork and some good old-fashioned police work, we were able to flush out five suspects,” said Lt. Lewis, of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s station. “All five were identified by the witness.”
Lewis said that two of the suspects were caught in the act of burglarizing the residence, while three were in lookout positions outside the home. He also said that the suspects were in possession of black gloves and burglary tools and all five have been booked at the Santa Clarita Valley station.
Names of the suspects were not available, but Lewis said they were from Canyon Country, Castaic and one, a former local resident, was from Rancho Cucamonga.
