Economic Development Corporation To Hold Economic Outlook Seminar

The Santa Clarita Valley Economic Development Corporation will hold their 2014 Economic and Real Estate Outlook seminar at the Hyatt Regency in Valencia on Thursday, March 6. Experts in the field will discuss the future of the local economy.

To help business leaders and community members understand the economic climate of North Los Angeles County, the Santa Clarita Valley Economic Development Corporation and College of the Canyons are holding a 2014 Economic and Real Estate Outlook Seminar at the Hyatt Regency in Valencia on Thursday, March 6 from 2:30 to 5 p.m.

The keynote speakers for the afternoon include Mark Schniepp, director of California Economic Forecast, and Mark Vitner, managing director and senior economist for Wells Fargo Securities.

They will provide a forecast of the local economy and real estate market.

Guests are also invited to attend a networking cocktail reception after the seminar.

Priority registration for the event ends on Jan. 31. Tickets purchased prior to the priority registration deadline are $95 per person. After Jan. 31, tickets are $125, and $150 after March 1.

There are also sponsorship opportunities available, at bronze, silver and gold levels.

Long associated with the University of California at Santa Barbara Economic Forecast as the Director and Chief Economist, he is known in California for his economic and forecasting analysis and commentary on regions of California. Special areas of expertise include regional economic analysis; economic evaluation of regions using local indicators and longer term forecasting of California counties. Schniepp also served as the Senior Economist for the California State Controller’s Office. He is a consulting economist to the California Department of Transportation and to the UCLA Anderson Forecast. Schniepp provides economic consulting for Irvine Company, Kaiser Permanente, California Association of Realtors, John Burns Real Estate Consulting and the Southern California Association of Government.

Mark Vitner is a managing director and senior economist at Wells Fargo, responsible for tracking U.S. and regional economic trends. He also writes for the company’s “Monthly Economic Outlook” report, the “Weekly Economic & Financial Commentary” and provides regular updates on the housing markets, commercial real estate, regional economies and inflation.
