The Blue Cloud Movie Ranch in Saugus, which has the address listed as having an address of 0 Blue Cloud Road, has been home to countless major motion picture films throughout its history.

Real estate agent Gail Kopp, who is representing the sale of the property for Realty Executives, said she could not discuss any details of the property, other than to confirm the asking price, that it is for sale and that it’s a 94-acre property. Blue Cloud Movie Ranch in Saugus

When reached by phone Friday morning, property owner Rene Veluzat said he was not able to discuss the matter in detail because he said he was speaking with officials from a studio.

The Blue Cloud Movie Ranch has been on the market for about a year, according to one official, but Kopp said she could not confirm or discuss any other specifics.

The city of Santa Clarita is in the final stages of annexing the property, according to Jason Crawford, economic development manager for the city of Santa Clarita.

“They’ll be annexed into the Movie Ranch Overlay Zone, which is a mechanism the city has to promote and encourage filming by reducing the cost of fliming,” Crawford said.

“We’re in the final stages,” Crawford said of the annexation. “That process did start over a year ago, and will finish in the next month.”

The planned 824-acre “North Saugus” annexation cleared the Planning Commission in September 2012 and received approval from Santa Clarita City Council at a March 26 hearing.

The property also enjoys benefits of being with in the 30-mile zone, an area that receives additional incentives aimed at promoting filming in and around Hollywood.

The Veluzats have been a fixture in the Santa Clarita Valley since the arrival of patriarch Paul T. Veluzat in about 1939.

Among his many real estate purchases was the Haskell Canyon property in 1943, initially as a cattle ranch and then as a movie ranch beginning in the mid-1960s.

All three of Paul T.’s sons – Rene, Andre and Renaud – ended up in the movie rental business, which expanded when Paul T., Andre and Renaud bought Melody Ranch from Gene Autry after Autry’s horse Champion died at the Placerita Canyon property in 1990. Paul T. died in 2000 at age 101.
