“The way that this worked is that the week we opened, Mod Pizza decided to take a dollar from every pizza sold that entire week and donate it to whatever charity…. I chose the Santa Clarita Food Pantry for us to donate to,” said Sara Rose, manager at Mod Pizza.
Mod Pizza opened a location in the Valencia Marketplace in November and is known for its build-your-own-pizza mantra. Mod Pizza decided to take a portion of their revenue from the first week of its opening and make a large donation to the Santa Clarita Food Pantry, according to Rose.
“We can’t thank Mod Pizza enough for being the type of organization that wants to help in the community that they serve. Not only is Mod Pizza serving customers, they are also helping those that are less fortunate that might not be able to come into Mod Pizza to purchase a pizza, ” said Belinda Crawford, executive director at the Santa Clarita Food Pantry.
“This will surely stock our shelves and feed a ton of tummies in Santa Clarita,” according to Crawford’s statement.
About The Santa Clarita Food Pantry
Our mission is to alleviate hunger throughout the Santa Clarita Valley. We accomplish this with a dynamic group of volunteers who source donations, package nutritious food to stretch a family’s food supply and distribute that food to qualifying residents of the SCV.
