Brenda Torres and her husband are opening three franchises for Capriotti’s in Santa Clarita, after living in the valley for over five years.

“We love this area, and want to bring something to this city that we don’t already have,” said Torres. “This is more than just a franchise, it’s a family.”

Capriotti’s makes almost everything in-house, from freshly baked bread to even roasting turkey overnight.

“The fresh ingredients sets us apart,” said Torres. “No other sandwich shop takes the time to freshly make almost all of the items.”

The closest Capriotti’s location to the Santa Clarita Valley is currently Culver City. Torres has the franchise territory that includes Santa Clarita and the San Fernando Valley.

“We are going to start off with three, but who knows what the future holds,” she said.

Torres has expressed plans to open three Capriotti’s locations over the next two years. The first two locations would be in Santa Clarita, with the first opening summer of 2018, followed by the second in early 2020.

The third restaurant is anticipated to closely follow the second and be located in Canyon Country, according to the franchise owner.

Torres was a stay-at-home mom who hopes to one day bring her children into the new family sandwich business.

“After spending the past 12 years at home to raise my children, I knew we needed a brand whose values aligned with ours,” she said. “My husband fell in love with Capriotti’s on a business trip in Reno, Nevada, and after visiting the Culver City location to see what the buzz was about, I could tell this was the perfect fit.”

The locations of the three Santa Clarita sandwich shops have not been announced, the first is set to open this summer.

  1. “The first two locations would be in Santa Clarita…”. OK.
“The third restaurant is anticipated to closely follow the second and to be located in Canyon Country.”
Can’t argue with that planning; the third following the second only makes sense. BUT- as much as some would have it differently, Canyon Country is part of Santa Clarita!
