“When you have an indoor gathering, where do most people hang out? The kitchen,” said owner and interior designer Jen Brown. “So let’s take that outside, let’s expand the space, enjoy the amazing weather that we have here and let’s hang out around the barbecue or the outdoor kitchen.”Santa Clarita Design Center Surfaces USA

Outdoor kitchens and revamped patio, pool or barbecue areas are great for the summer season, which is also barbecue season for many people, Brown added.

“You can move your indoor life outdoors and take advantage of the season,” she said.

Another reason to remodel during the summer is that school is out and people are planning to leave for summer vacations, so the Surfaces USA crew can have an indoor or outdoor kitchen, bathroom or barbecue area completely remodeled while you’re away.

“We do have a lot of people who know what they want done; they don’t want to live at home during the construction,” Brown said. “So they will take off, they come home from vacation after about a week to 10 days: new bathroom, new kitchen, whatever the case may be.”

As the only slab yard in the Santa Clarita Valley, you can visit the Surfaces USA showroom in Santa Clarita and browse hundreds of different kinds of slabs, ranging from granite, which Brown said is great for outdoors, to porcelain to quartz and more.

“We have something that will fit just about any hardscape combination out there,” Brown said. “We can find just about anything for your style or your taste.”

An added bonus of remodeling with Surfaces USA is that the center is staffed by experienced, knowledgeable interior designers who will oversee the entire project from start to finish using their own crews, unlike some competitors.

“I actually am trained in interior design, I have a degree in interior design,” Brown said. “That sets us apart from all the other places out there as well. I can help you pull your indoor, tie it into your outdoors, I can help you pull all of your outdoor design and colors together and make it look like it’s one cohesive piece.”

Instead of using third-party subcontractors, Surfaces USA has their own crew that can complete all aspects of the project.

“The big thing with us is we won’t put anybody in your home that we wouldn’t put in our own homes, so we like to think of us as one big family,” Brown said. “We are in constant contact, so we don’t just sell the product and then let the contractors take over. We’re actually more like project coordinators from start to finish, on the whole thing.”
