The heart of the operation is Dave Reeves, owner and founder of Reeves Complete Auto Center, located in Canyon Country.  Dave is a second generation car guy who started at an early age working on race cars with his father. “I followed in my dad’s footsteps,” said Reeves, with a little more than a hint of pride. “Then I built engines for race cars, and changed tires on race cars. I’ve been in the industry a long time.”

Although his business is built around servicing passenger cars and light trucks, Dave works to maintain his industry affiliations and his friendships in the racing industry, where so many of the bells and whistles on passenger cars that we take for granted are first developed. “I’ve been to Daytona five times, Charlotte five times, Atlanta, Bristol Tennessee, and Phoenix with my two boys, “said Reeves.  He still makes an annual trek to Phoenix International Raceway for the last race of the year.

Reeves admits to being a dedicated ‘left turn guy’, a euphuism for a Racecar enthusiast.  As an act of defiance against the British, American horseraces ran counterclockwise instead of clockwise, like British horse races.  When NASCAR built its speedways, they kept the counterclockwise tradition.

The love of everything automotive translates into an auto shop that runs like, well, a fine-tuned engine.  Reeves considers this Complete Auto Center team experts at everything they do; if they are not the best at something, they find the best in order to keep the quality level high for both their consumer base and their growing commercial business.

Several of the employees have been with Reeves since the early days of the business, and now, comfortable that the daily operations are in good hands, Dave is spending more time on the shop floor, and handling the all-important roles of maintaining quality control and superior customer service.  “Now I can get out to the shop more, staying on top of productivity and quality control”, Reeves continues. “I pride myself on making sure the customers are happy. I give a phone call or two to new customers a couple of days after they have been in to make sure they are happy.”

In his spirit of giving back, Reeves is preparing to join the board at the Santa Clarita Valley Food Pantry, and already donates part of the clothing merchandise sales from his business to the Pantry as well. Along with his membership in the Santa Clarita Valley Rotary, Reeves is excited that the growth of his business and the subsequent growth of his staff allows him to be more involved in the community he loves.
