The Taiwanese bakery-cafe serves hand-crafted cafe drinks, baked pastries and gourmet cakes.

“The Santa Clarita Valley will welcome it very well,” said Christopher Jocson, a marketing and events coordinator for the bakery. “We’re a self-serve bakery known for fresh baked goods every hour.”

Jocson was not able to comment on an exact location, but the foodie blog eatSCV is reporting that the bakery will be opening up in the River Oaks Shopping Center in a space formerly occupied by Pier 1 Imports.

That would leave the bakery sharing a space next to the confirmed Zankou Chicken, which is scheduled to open up in Fall of 2017.

There is no exact date for when construction may begin as the leasing process might be a factor, Jocson said.

Some specialties at 85°C Bakery Cafe are the brioche and sea salt coffee which may be a first for the coffee industry, Jocson said.

Founded in 2003, over 900 locations have appeared worldwide—with the first U.S. location opening in Irvine in 2008, according to the bakery’s webpage.

More than two dozen of the bakeries exist in the United States, Jocson said, and the company is hoping to reach 50 by the end of 2017.

  1. I am so excited to learn they are opening in my neighborhood! I was just there at the downtown location-i got for my friend and for my neighbor and I am enjoying a delicious sandwich on their multigrain bread. Their crab/walnut bread is off the charts delicious!
