Local members of the California Republican Assembly met Tuesday evening to participate in an endorsing convention for purpose of endorsing candidates running for election for local office in the Santa Clarita Valley November 8.
For the Santa Clarita Community College District, Bruce Fortine was endorsed for reelection to Seat #4 and Scott Wilk was endorsed for election to Seat # 5.

For the William S. Hart School District, Steve Sturgeon and Gloria Mercado-Fortine were both endorsed for reelection.
For the Saugus Union School District, Rose Diaz was endorsed for reelection and first time candidate Steven Winkler was endorsed for election.
For the Sulphur Springs School District, first time candidate Priscilla Lofton received the endorsement for her election.
“The meeting was well attended by members of the CRA as well as local community members,” said Bob Haueter, a State Officer of the California Republican Assembly and the Chair of the Endorsing convention. “All the candidates did an excellent job of laying out a conservative and fiscally responsible agenda for governing our local schools, the delegates were impressed by their expertise, experience and dedication to the youth of our Valley, “ Haueter concluded.
