Weekend maitinence project will not take place.
KHTS reported earlier this week that Caltrans had planned a series of overnight closures for the 14 freeway in the Antelope Valley this weekend. Those plans, according to Caltrans officials, have been cancelled now, and the freeway will remain open.
No reason for the cancellation was provided.
However, some new closures were announced for a stretch of highway 138.
As part of State Route 138 widening and in order to perform asphalt work, Caltrans will close one lane of eastbound State Route 138, overnight from 96th Street East to 106th Street East as follows:
- From 9 p.m. Thursday, July 24 to 7 a.m. Friday, July 25
- From 9 p.m. Friday, July 25 to 7 a.m. Saturday, July 26
- From 9 p.m. Saturday, July 26 to 7 a.m. Sunday, July 27
- From 9 p.m. Monday, July 28 to 7 a.m. Tuesday, July 29
Flaggers will be on site to assist motorists. Signs will be posted. Businesses will be open during construction.
