Caltrans To Close More Lanes This Week

The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will close the following lanes of the Golden State Freeway (I-5), as part of a $41.6-million project to construct High Occupancy Vehicle, (HOV), or carpool lanes, on northbound and southbound I-5 from State Route 118 to State Route 14:

TUESDAY, JANUARY 9 THROUGH THURSDAY, JANUARY 11:

•    5 a.m. to 2 p.m. – One lane of northbound I-5 from State Route 210 to State Route 14
•    6 a.m. to 3 p.m. – One lane of northbound I-5 from State Route 118 to Chatsworth Avenue
•    8 a.m. to 2 p.m. – Up to two lanes of northbound I-5 from I-405 to State Route 210 connector
•    9 a.m. to 2 p.m. – The westbound State Route 118 connector to northbound I-5
•    9 a.m. to 3 p.m. — The Chatsworth Avenue on-ramp to southbound I-5
•    9 a.m. to 3 p.m. – The southbound I-5 connector to eastbound State Route 118
•    9 a.m. to 3 p.m. – The southbound I-5 connector to I-405 truck bypass
•    9 a.m. to 3 p.m. – The Paxton Street on-ramp to northbound I-5
•    9 a.m. to 3 p.m. – The Laurel Canyon Avenue on-ramp to northbound I-5
•    9 a.m. to 1 p.m. – Up to two lanes of northbound I-5 from State Route 118 to Chatsworth Avenue
•    9 a.m. to 3 p.m. – The northbound I-5 off-ramp to Brand Boulevard
•    9 a.m. to 3 p.m. – The Brand Boulevard on-ramp to southbound I-5
•    9 a.m. to 3 p.m. – One lane of northbound I-5 from Chatsworth Avenue to I-405
•    9 a.m. to 3 p.m. – The northbound I-5 off-ramp to Brand Boulevard
•    9 a.m. to 3 p.m. – The northbound I-5 off-ramp to San Fernando Mission Boulevard
•    9 a.m. to 3 p.m. – The southbound auxiliary lane and one southbound lane from Chatsworth Avenue to State Route 118
•    9 a.m. to 3 p.m. – The southbound I-5 off-ramp to San Fernando Mission Boulevard
•    9 a.m. to 3 p.m. – The eastbound and westbound San Fernando Mission Boulevard on-ramps to northbound I-5

OVERNIGHT – TUESDAY, JANUARY 9 THROUGH THURSDAY, JANUARY 11:

•    6 p.m. to 5 a.m. – Up to two lanes of southbound I-5 from San Fernando Mission
     Boulevard to Brand Boulevard    
•    6 p.m. to 7 a.m. – The southbound I-5 off-ramp at Paxton Street
•    7 p.m. to 5 a.m. – Up to two lanes of southbound I-5 from Roxford Street to southbound truck bypass lanes
•    6 p.m. to 6 .m. – The westbound State Route 118 connector to northbound I-5
•    7 p.m. to 6 a.m. – The southbound I-5 connector to eastbound State Route 118
•    7 p.m. to 6 a.m. – The southbound I-5 auxiliary lane and one southbound lane from Brand Blvd. to State Route 118
•    7 p.m. to 6 a.m. – The southbound I-5 connector to I-405 truck bypass
•    7 p.m. to 6 a.m. – The Paxton Street on-ramp to northbound I-5
•    7 p.m. to 8 a.m. – Up to three lanes of southbound I-5 from truck bypass to Roxford
    Street
•    8 p.m. to 11:59 a.m. – The northbound I-5 on-ramp at Chatsworth St./Brand Boulevard
•    7 p.m. to 6 a.m. – The Laurel Canyon Avenue on-ramp to northbound I-5
•    7 p.m. to 6 a.m. – The southbound I-5 off-ramp to San Fernando Mission Boulevard
•    7 p.m. to 6 a.m. – The northbound I-5 off-ramp to San Fernando Mission Boulevard
•    7 p.m. to 6 a.m. – The Brand Boulevard on-ramp to southbound I-5
•    7 p.m. to 6 a.m. – The eastbound and westbound San Fernando Mission Boulevard on-ramps to southbound I-5
•    7 p.m. to 6 a.m. – The Chatsworth Street on-ramp to southbound I-5
•    9 p.m. to 7 a.m. – Up to two lanes of southbound I-5 from truck bypass to I-405
•    8 p.m. to 8 a.m. — Up to three lanes of northbound I-5 from Balboa Blvd. to State Route 14
•    8 p.m. to 8 a.m. – Up to three lanes of northbound I-5 from I-405 to Roxford Street
•    8 p.m. to 9 a.m. – Up to two lanes of northbound I-5 from Paxton Street to San Fernando Mission Boulevard
•    10 p.m. to 5 a.m. – Up to three lanes of southbound I-5 from State Route 14 to Balboa Boulevard
•    9 p.m. to 6 a.m. – Up to two lanes of northbound I-5 from San Fernando Mission Boulevard to I-405
•    8 p.m. to 5 a.m. – Up to three lanes of southbound I-5 from Balboa Blvd. to end of truck bypass
•    8 p.m. to 6 a.m. – Up to three lanes of northbound I-5 from Roxford Street to eastbound State Route 210 on-ramp
•    8 p.m. to 5 a.m. – Up to two lanes of southbound I-5 from I-405 to San Fernando Mission Boulevard
•    10 p.m. to 6 a.m. – Up to three lanes of northbound I-5 from eastbound State Route 210 on-ramp to Balboa Blvd.
•    10 p.m. to 5 a.m. – Up to two lanes of southbound I-5 from ½ mile south of Calgrove Boulevard to State Route 14
•    11 p.m. to 5 a.m. – Up to two lanes of northbound I-5 at State Route 14 truck route

    These closures are weather-permitting and subject to change.  Signs will be posted to assist motorists.  Caltrans reminds motorists to please SLOW FOR THE CONE ZONE.
