What to do with the kids over winter break? How about sending them to camp?
The City of Santa Clarita’s “Camp Clarita” is excited to offer camp during winter break to children in grades K-6 (as of fall 2010).
Camp Clarita Winter Adventures will run during three different sessions: week one is from December 20-23 (four days), week two is from December 27-30 (four days) and week three is from January 3-7, 2011 (five days). Winter Adventures will be held at the Santa Clarita Sports Complex Activities Center, located at 20880 Centre Pointe Parkway.

Winter Adventures is a traditional day camp program where children will participate in weekly themed programs and activities such as arts and crafts, games, and a weekly field trip to age appropriate locations throughout Southern California. Supervision ratio is one counselor for every ten campers. Staff is dedicated to providing a safe, fun and comprehensive environment that serves the recreational needs of youth in Santa Clarita.
The cost for Camp Clarita Winter Adventures is $140 for Week One, $140 for Week two and $160 for Week Three. Fees include admission and transportation to field trip destinations, daily snack, and one free camp T-shirt given on their first day of camp. Camp hours are 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., with core camp hours from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. extended care offered at no additional cost.
Online registration for winter camp begins Monday, November 15, at 8:00 a.m. and Walk-In registration beginning Monday, November 15, at the Santa Clarita Sports Complex Aquatic Center at 10:00 a.m.
