City of Santa Clarita holds autitions for National Anthem
The City of Santa Clarita and the Dodger Day Committee are accepting entries for a Santa Clarita vocalist to sing the National Anthem at the 33rd Annual Santa Clarita Dodger Day on Saturday, May 8th. The game officially begins at Dodger Stadium at 7:10 p.m. with Santa Clarita Valley pre-game activities beginning at 7:00 p.m. Auditions must be received at City Hall by Friday, April 9 at 5:00 p.m.
Individuals and groups of up to four may submit auditions of them singing the National Anthem on a VHS Video Tape or DVD format, along with a short biography and brief background of previous performances and singing experience. Participants must live in the Santa Clarita Valley. Submissions may not be recorded or edited in a recording studio. All required materials must be submitted to the City of Santa Clarita’s Arts and Events Office at 23920 Valencia Blvd., Suite 120, Santa Clarita, CA 91355.
“The Los Angeles Dodgers organization will make the final decision and will notify only the individual or group selected to sing the National Anthem at the 2010 SCV Dodger Day,” said Mayor Laurene Weste. “I encourage all of Santa Clarita’s talented community members to submit their audition for this exciting opportunity.”
The Santa Clarita Dodger Day tickets can be purchased until 12 Noon, Friday, April 30th and are available at the City’s Aquatic Center. The discounted prices for these tickets that are available to all Santa Clarita Valley residents are as follows: Baseline Field Level: $50 Preferred Loge Box: $35 Infield Reserve: $25 and Lower Reserve: $15. A portion of every ticket sale will help support our local schools and non-profit groups.
