Canyon Country Park Renovations Complete

New playgrounds greet kids at Canyon Country Park.

Canyon Country
Park is again open for play as the City
of Santa Clarita recently completed
the playground upgrades project. This  included the replacement of play
equipment and resurfacing of the ground areas to ensure that the park
was up-to-date and in accord with the American with Disabilities Act (ADA)
standards.

The upgrades to the park included removing and replacing the
existing play equipment and installing new resilient surfacing, fencing,
benches, litter receptacles and new sand. In addition, numerous shade canopies were
added around the play areas.

The City’s parks, recreation and planning staff worked
together to provide a barrier-free, creative and interactive environment for a
wide range of ability levels. The play areas were designed for children to
learn together through play.

“The newly-remodeled Canyon Country park was designed in
such a way that it focuses on creating areas that encourage the development of
essential life skills, imagination, and sense of adventure,” said Rick Gould,
City Director of Parks, Recreation, & Community Services.

Canyon Country
Park is located at 17615
West Soledad Canyon Road. For more information on
the new renovations that took place at the Canyon
Country Park,
