Deputies patrolling on Greenwood Place in Castaic caught two car burglars in the act Tuesday morning when something just didn’t look right.
Unfortunately, the two suspects – both minors – got away before they could be apprehended.
On routine patrol at 2:19 a.m., the deputies spotted two young men rifling through a car parked in a resident’s driveway with the doors wide open.
For the time and setting, and because of a recent rash of car burglaries in the area, the cops knew there was something amiss, but by the time they were able to stop, the young men fled on foot and got away.
Left behind were two young girls in what was purportedly the “getaway” car; they were taken to the sheriff’s station and released to their parents.
