Award-winning journalist joins KHTS news team
Journalist Carol Rock, who has 15 years experience covering breaking news and writing feature and entertainment stories in the Santa Clarita and San Fernando Valleys, has joined the news staff at KHTS Radio, station owners Jeri and Carl Goldman announced today.
“Carol brings so much talent to our station, she compliments the rest of our staff as a long-time community member and a stellar journalist,” said Goldman. “We know Carol will add to our news gathering efforts and community involvement.”
“It’s exciting to enter a new medium and cover this dynamic community,” Rock said. She was most recently a reporter for the Daily News and a reporter/editor at The Signal newspaper, where she received awards from the National Newspaper Association, the California Newspaper Publishers Association and the Greater Los Angeles Press Club. She also wrote a column for the Times Community News Santa Clarita section.
Rock has been involved in the Santa Clarita Valley community as a volunteer for many years, serving on the board of directors of the SCV Historical Society, the Canyon Theatre Guild, the SCV Boys and Girls Club Festival of Trees and the Santa Clarita Fourth of July Parade Committee. She is also a member of the city’s Newhall Redevelopment Committee.
