An 18-year old suspect was arrested today by a gang detective after the victim identified the suspect.
Hector Hernandez, 18, a male Hispanic, was arrested Wednesday morning by a member of the Santa Clarita Valley station’s COBRA unit on suspicion of assaulting a 17-year old in Castaic on May 14.
The assault took place at the corner of Parker and Castaic Roads in Castaic, when the victim told detectives that Hernandez hit him with a pipe and broken glass, resulting in a laceration to the back of the victim’s head that required four staples to close.

The victim also told detectives that the attack was related to a previous altercation that happened almost four years ago.
Hernandez was booked at the Santa Clarita Valley station on suspicion of felony assault with a deadly weapon. He is being held in lieu of $30,000 bail.
