A drone technology and education company will be at Castaic Middle School on Friday to work with students in implementing drone technology into their everyday lessons.

Soaring Sky is a commercial drone company that provides drone services for energy utilities, construction inspections on buildings and roofs, real estate and serving mapping.
“Students will be able to practice on drone stimulators,” said Ryan Cowell, general manager and co-founder of Soaring Sky. Current law allows for high school students to earn their license to fly drones at 16 years old.
“We work allot through education, so we developed a drone kit for middle and high school students,” said Cowell.
“The middle school has been using their curriculum,” said Charmin Ortega, executive assistant to the superintendent.
The unique course is only being taught within the Castaic Union School District.
Castaic Middle School located at 28900 Hillcrest Parkway, and Soaring Sky’s co-founder will be on campus to interact with students from 9:15-10:50 a.m.
