Celebrating Youth Sports Festival Puts Kids In The Zone

khts_inthecommunity2The City of Clarita is hosting the Celebrating YOUth Sports Festival on Saturday, August 21 from 10:00 A.M. to 2:30 P.M. at Central Park. The Celebrating YOUth Sports Festival is a great opportunity for the community to attend a free, family oriented event that provides children a chance to experience a variety of different recreational sports and activities offered by the city.

Festival activities include the Football Fun Zone with a Dick’s QB Challenge, field goal kicking, and 40 yard dash.  The Make a Splash Zone with Dunk the Life Guard, balloon toss and other water fun activities.  The Children’s Fun Zone includes face painting, crafts and organized games.

The Wild World of Sports Zone is jam-packed with a Homerun derby, Jet Hawk Speed Pitch, Soccer1 Shootout, Big Ball Volleyball and Vista Valencia Golf Driving Range.  There is also an Exhibition Clippers portable basketball court and tennis instruction by Global Tennis.

“By participating in sports, youth learn the value of hard work, self-discipline, self-motivation, and respect for others,” said Mayor Laurene Weste. “This creates a foundation for personal development and a commitment to a healthy, productive lifestyle.”
