Cemex and Homeless Shelter Have Something In Common

City of Santa Clarita officials are looking to by 58 acres of land which has been tentatively planned by Los Angeles County to be home to a homeless shelter….

Councilwoman Laurene Weste says that the property is near the Cemex mine site the city purchased last year, which would give the city a chance to monitor the wells there.

The former homeless shelter was displaced when the City Council declined to renew the shelter’s lease of the parking lot at the Metrolink Via Princessa station.

More on this story is in today’s Signal.
