The Antelope Valley Fairgrounds today announced the theme for next year’s A. V. Fair 2012. Over 900 theme ideas centered on “cherries” were submitted for consideration in this annual contest.
After reviewing such a large amount of entries, Marketing Manager Wendy Bozigian remarked, “Once again our community stepped up and participated in our annual Fair theme contest. We received some really creative and funny theme entries that always make it a challenge when selecting a winner.

Nonetheless, the Board of Directors selected the entry submitted by Jesse Livitski of Palmdale, as this year’s winner.
The criterion for entries was that each theme submitted is 5 words or less centered on cherries, but not necessarily using the word cherry in the theme. His phrase, “Cherry Jammin’!” followed theme criteria and captures the essence of what the Fair experience is all about.
When told of his winning entry, Livitski exclaimed, “Are you serious? I won?!” Livitski was born and raised in Palmdale, graduated from Highland High School and is currently pursuing a career in the Navy. When asked how he came up with his winning theme he said when he thinks about the Fair, he thinks of jammin’ at the concerts.
Bozigian added, “This theme is a great play on words and seeing as there are a lot of cherry orchards in the Antelope Valley we feel it fits well with our agricultural roots and also allows us to graphically express our ‘cherry’ of a Fair.”
Livitski will ride in the 2012 AV Fair parade as a VIP, receive two tickets to all Fair 2012 concerts and arena entertainment and will be recognized at the annual “Kick-Off” (Volunteer appreciation) dinner held in July 2012.
Additionally, the winner receives passes to The A.V. Fair Bridal Show on January 15, 2012, the Home & Garden Show, March 16-18, 2012 and the 10 day “Cherry Jammin’” A.V. Fair beginning on August 17 through August 26, 2012.
