A two-year-old boy drowned Saturday after falling into the community pool at the condominium complex in the 23000 block of La Glorita Circle in Newhall.

The boy had been seen earlier in the homeowners association clubhouse, and it is not known when he left the building to go to the pool.

Rescuers responding to the 4:50 p.m. help call attempted CPR at the scene and rushed the child to Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital, but he was pronounced dead later that afternoon.

According to LA County Sheriff’s Lt. Tom Bryski, family members were at the hospital with the child.
