Child Injured By Rolling Truck In Castaic Driveway

Police close intersections enroute to helipad to speed ambulance along.

A 3-year-old boy received major injuries in what appears to have been a tragic accident.

At approximately 10:15 a.m.,
Joseph Geen of Castaic and his 3-year-old son were cleaning a 2006 Dodge Ram truck
at his residence on Silver Oak Trail in Castaic. For an unknown reason, the
parking brake deactivated, causing the truck to roll backwards down the
inclined driveway.

The child, who was standing in the open driver’s doorway,
was trapped by the left front wheel and suffered major injuries.

Police blocked intersections on  the southbound lanes of The Old Road and northbound lanes of Lake Hughes Road to help an ambulance speed the child to the helipad at the Lower Castaic Lake. The child and one of his parents were airlifted to Children's Hospital, Los Angeles. No word as to his current condition.

Additional details will be posted as they become available.
