The City of Santa Clarita, in collaboration with the Valley Trauma Center, will host the 5th Annual Children’s Safety Fair on Saturday, October 9, 2010, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Newhall Community Center, located in Newhall at 22421 Market Street.
This event will bring more than 30 local service agencies together at one location to provide information, demonstrations, and essential children’s safety services. Information will be available on topics such as Affordable Healthcare, Fire Safety, Bicycle & Helmet Safety, Car Seat Safety, Child Abuse, Bullying, Dating Violence, Domestic Violence, Gang Violence, Education, Tutoring, Family Nutrition, Counseling, and Social Services.

“The safety of our children is a top priority and this event provides the community with resources to benefit their families,” commented Mayor Laurene Weste.
Workshops will be conducted throughout the day on Internet Safety, Cyber Bullying, and Personal Self Defense. Families will have the opportunity to learn more on how to apply for affordable health care and other legal services.
Local vendors will provide food, raffle prizes, and entertainment. Lunch will be provided free of charge to all participants.
