The accident occurred in the alleyway between Arch Street and Race Street.

The child had to be airlifted to Children’s Hospital in Los Angeles where she is listed in stable condition.

According to Sheriff’s officials, the driver of the Tahoe stopped, got out of his car, and told the child's mother to take her to the hospital.  He then got back into his vehicle and fled the scene.  He is described as a male Hispanic, approximately 25 years old, with a medium build.

The Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff Station's Traffic Unit is seeking information from anyone who may have witnessed this incident or may have information about the vehicle or driver.  Contact Detective Smoldt of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station at (661) 799-5111.
