CHP Asks For Public’s Help

Pickup truck sought in hit-and-run fatality.

 

The California Highway Patrol is asking for the public's assistance in locating a pickup truck suspected in a fatal hit-and-run New Year's Day.

At approximately 10:13 p.m. Jan. 1, a truck described as a large gray or dark-colored "dually" pickup truck towing a red utility trailer struck a disabled Dodge Caravan in the #3 lane of the northbound Golden State Freeway and a 14-year-old boy standing alongside the vehicle attempting to wave down traffic.

The boy died of his injuries. The truck was last seen traveling northbound on I-5. If you have any information regarding this incident, please call (661) 294-5540 and speak to the Accident Investigation Officer or call toll-free at (800) TELL-CHP.
