The California Highway Patrol said that drivers were mostly nice over the holiday weekend, but some folks were definitely naughty behind the wheel.
The good news on our freeways and highways is that there were no traffic deaths in the Newhall area over the Christmas holiday weekend.
The bad news – there were 35 driving under the influence arrests made, compared to 23 last year.
Countywide, the CHP made more than 200 arrests for driving under the influence over the weekend.
Another Maximum Enforcement Period will go into effect on New Year’s Eve and continue over the weekend.
