CHP Motor Officer Involved In Morning Crash

chplogoA morning rush-hour crash involving a California Highway Patrol motorcycle officer closed a portion of The Old Road just south of Rye Canyon Road around 5:30 a.m.

Officer Eric Bejar, 45, was riding his 1994 BMW CHP motorcycle northbound on The Old Road and was stopped behind a 1995 International flatbed truck being driven by Guillermo Rocha, 22, of Oxnard waiting for the light to turn green.

For reasons under investigation, as the light phased into green, the front of Bejar’s bike collided with the back of Rocha’s truck, injuring Officer Bejar.

CHP and Los Angeles County Fire personnel responded to the scene and Bejar was transported to Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital for treatment of minor to moderate injuries.
