Complaints prompt crackdown

To improve traffic flow and public safety for the Stevenson Ranch community, the Board of Supervisors unanimously approved a speed restrictions and radar speed enforcement on Pico Canyon Road between Whispering Oaks Road and Chiquella Lane, announced Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich.

A 50-mph speed limit will be enforced on Pico Canyon Road between Whispering Oaks Road and the Old Road, and a 40-mph speed limit on Pico Canyon Road between the Old Road and Chiquella Lane.  The enforcement will be coordinated by the California Highway Patrol (CHP) and the Los Angeles County Department of Public Works.

“In response to the communities’ concerns of speeding along Pico Canyon Road, law enforcement will implement radar speed enforcement which will reduce speed and prevent accidents,” said Supervisor Antonovich.

All expenses associated with the use of radar equipment and patrols will be assumed by the CHP.
