Drinking drivers to be sought in un-incorporated areas of SCVOf Friday night, the CHP will put on a DUI checkpoint. Starting at 8:00pm, an un-disclosed area in un-incorporated Santa Clarita will be the site of a sobriety check for all passing motorists.
The delay for drivers passing through the checkpoint is not expected to be long.
The CHP says that the goal of the checkpoint is to achieve results, even if those results end up being more psychological than physical. They say that while the number of arrests at checkpoints is not high, the community is made safer because drivers actually avoid drinking and driving when they know a checkpoint is being held.
