Film newsletter receives the “Award of Excellence” by CAPIO
The City of Santa Clarita is proud to announce that the Film Office’s fall 2005 newsletter took home first place at the CAPIO’s Excellence in Communications awards, a statewide competition designed to showcase outstanding communications strategies, products and skills in print, video, online and in public. Specifically, the film newsletter received the “Award of Excellence” in the “Community or Special Audience Newsletter” targeting a population of less than 25,000” category. The City’s www.espanol.com received a third place award from the competition. Since 2002, the City’s Film Office has actively marketed the Santa Clarita Valley as an ideal place in which to do business, including location filming and business relocation. The Film Newsletter is published bi-annually and allows continuous contact with local film industry professionals and targeted new businesses. Each issue provides updates about film activity in the Santa Clarita Valley, specifically highlighting major film projects, industry happenings and Santa Clarita’s commitment to the industry’s continued growth and success in the city. “We’re thrilled to have been recognized for our marketing efforts,” said Jason Crawford, film administrator for the City of Santa Clarita. “The newsletter has become one of our primary outreach tools to the film community and an opportunity for our office to highlight the city’s dynamic growth and unique offerings, while reinforcing our commitment to the industry.”
The “Excellence in Communications” competition was open to CAPIO members throughout the state for campaigns implemented in 2005 and winners were announced on Thursday, April 20, 2006.
