City Council Decides On Fees, Debates Sanitation Issue

khts_citymatters_scvlogoThe City Council approved a resolution increasing fees for certain city services Tuesday evening.

A lengthy report on by the sanitation district was given to the council. Residents came forward to oppose any rate increase, but the much anticipated meeting with the council on Thursday, May 27 is expected to be more focused on educating the public about potential rate increases.

Other fees were approved including those for the sports and recreational building complex rentals, including the sports arena and meeting rooms.

The aquatic center pools were also included in the fee increases. The center’s rental fee will be increased from $2 from $100 to $102. For a complete list of fees, click here.

Also on the City’s agenda was an approval to change the remainder of the City’s incandescent traffic signals to L.E.D.s and an annual levy for the open space preservation of $1.50 was also approved.
