The City of Santa Clarita City Council will return from its six-week recess on Tuesday and make its final decision on whether or not to seize control of its libraries from the County Library system.
Councilwoman Laurie Ender made the announcement at the Council’s last session on July 13, sparking an explosive debate featuring opinions from both City and County Library staff.

Council will also vote on the authorization of an application to replace the city’s existing enterprise zone, an area within city limits that gives tax breaks to businesses.
In addition to the anticipated public hearing for the library takeover, residents will also have a chance to voice their opinions on the West Creek/Tesoro Del Valle annexation plan.
Council members will also address the vacancies on various government bodies, including the Planning Commission and the Newhall Redevelopment Committee.
The Tuesday session will begin at 6:00 p.m. at City Hall.
