City Council To Discuss Library Acquisition, Council Member Compensation

khts_citymatters_scvlogoCity Council members will be taking on a full agenda at their regular meeting on Tuesday.

Up for discussion is councilmember compensation which has historically been reviewed and adjusted every two years. At tomorrow’s meeting, with the current council compensation at $1,571.67 per month, council member compensation will be reviewed for consideration and a monthly increase of $314.33 per council member or an annual increase to the City budget of $18,859.80 will be proposed.

In the ongoing discussion on the library takeover that began in August of last year, City Council will discuss the acquiring of library facilities, real property, personal property, and collections from the County of Los Angeles. The City will discuss a loan of $8,081,59 that will go towards the acquiring of  the library collection, furniture, fixtures, and equipment of libraries in Santa Clarita

The meeting begins at 6 p.m. at City Hall.
