City Delivers Grants To Newhall Businesses

khts_citymatters_scvlogoMayor Laurene Weste delivered checks for grants awarded to five City-based businesses through the Newhall Redevelopment Small Business Grant Program. The businesses presented with checks were Friendly Hair Salon, Pilates Teck, Richan Landscaping, VO2 Fitness and Yoga Yoga.

Created as part of the City’s 21-Point Plan for Progress, the Newhall Redevelopment Small Business Grant Program awards individual grants up to $5,000 to 20 small businesses in the Newhall Redevelopment area.

“The Newhall Redevelopment Small Business Grant Program is a great way for the City to assist our local businesses and support their individual initiatives and needs,” said Mayor Laurene Weste. “The program helps local small business owners make business enhancements, as well as encourage business growth and sustainability in the Newhall Redevelopment area.”

To qualify for the Newhall Redevelopment Small Business Grant, small businesses had to employ 25 employees or less and needed to be within the Newhall Redevelopment area. Grant applicants provided financial records, insurance documents, a comprehensive business plan indicating their commitment to their business, and identified how they would use the grant funding if awarded.
