City Encourages Residents To Apply For Arts Commission Vacancy

khts_citymatters_scvlogoThe City of Santa Clarita would like to encourage residents to apply for a vacant position on the Arts Commission. The application deadline is April 29.

The Arts Commission is made up of five members with an interest in the arts community within the City of Santa Clarita. The Commission advises the City Council and City staff on matters of the arts including public art, art programs, and art events throughout the community.

The term of office on the Arts Commission, which had previously been filled by Sandra Fisher, expires on July 31, 2014. The deadline for submitting an application to the City Clerk’s office, located at 23920 Valencia Blvd., Suite 304, is 5:00 p.m. All applicants must submit three letters of recommendation with their application.

Applicants must be 18 years or older and must maintain their principal residence in the City of Santa Clarita during their term of office. Evening availability is also required.
