City Files Federal Lawsuit Opposing Cemex Approvals

The City of Santa Clarita has filed a new lawsuit in Federal District Court, challenging several government agencies’ decisions to approve CEMEX…

The City alleges that the review on the project’s environmental impacts were cursory and superficial, and also alleges that the approval for the transit mixed concrete site would have been given no matter how severe the Project’s environmental impacts. In the lawsuit, the City is asking the Court to reverse the approvals and to issue an injunction against CEMEX, prohibiting all mining activities at the site.
