City Giving Computers Away

The City of Santa Clarita will give away pre-owned computers to qualifying organizations

The City of Santa Clarita is encouraging local schools and non-profits to submit requests to the City for computers. The City will donate approximately 50 pre-owned Dell computers to qualifying organizations between November and February 2008.

Computers will be available on a first come, first served basis until gone.

To qualify, organizations must be a community non-profit (501 C3’s) or a city public school. Eligible organizations may submit requests for up to five surplus computers.

The City will make a minimum of one computer available to each requesting organization, with potential additional computers provided on an individual basis as available. Additional computers, will be available to organizations that have requested consideration for more then one computer after December 14, 2007.

All computers are approximately three-to-four years old and include a Microsoft XP Operating System, processors Intel 1.7 GHz or better, memory 256mb or better, and a standard keyboard and mouse.

Individual computers do not include a flat panel monitor or Microsoft Office Productivity Suite Software.
