City program sheds lights on race relations, human rights.
[view:node_ad=5]Starting this month, the City of Santa Clarita will embark on the latest “Season of Diversity;” a program that organizes events and outreach efforts to promote positive relations and acceptance among all people.
The events are scheduled through February, and feature programs like Preschool story time, International Folk Tales, presented by Michael D. McCarty, and a panel discussion titled “It's Okay to Be…Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG) and the Trevor Project.”
Also, an essay has already opened, calling on Santa Clarita k-12 students to express their thoughts about human relations.
Special traditions have been established throughout the years, such as the Thanksgiving Potluck Dinner with the Santa Clarita Interfaith Council.

The Human Relations Forum sponsors the Season of Diversity, and it was formed in 1994 after community members asked for the designation of a task force to address cultural diversity in Santa Clarita.
