The City of Santa Clarita has launched a new website, BikeSantaClarita.com. In one convenient location, it provides cyclists of all experience levels with information about area trails, trail classification, biking events, rider safety and more.

The site was designed to be a comprehensive resource featuring cycling news, an interactive map with trails, news about upcoming biking events and ways to get more involved with Santa Clarita’s biking community, as well as biking laws, a directory of resources and frequently asked questions.

“Santa Clarita is one of Southern California’s most bike-friendly communities,” said Mayor Frank Ferry. “On any given day it is common to see groups of people out enjoying a ride, families on our trails, and even residents biking to and from work. We’ve worked hard to develop a system of trails that connects our neighborhoods, and we’ll continue to expand our bike and trail offerings in the coming years.”

Santa Clarita offers cyclists more than 70 miles bike trails and bike lanes. These are part of the City’s Healthy Santa Clarita campaign, which is spearheaded by the Santa Clarita City Council and designed to promote outdoor sports and recreation among residents of all ages.

BikeSantaClarita.com complements HikeSantaClarita.com, which was launched earlier this year and provides information about hiking trails, open space areas featuring trails, hiking events, safety tips and hiking news.

For more information about BikeSantaClarita.com, please contact Mark Patti with the City’s Environmental Services Division at (661) 286-4173.
