“We wanted to create a one-stop shop for teens,” said Ingrid Hardy, the community services superintendent. “We also wanted to recognize teens who are doing good things.”
The resources on the website, although teen-oriented, can be used by anyone looking for local information and help.
“The website is a great resource for parents of teens,” Hardy said. “It’s the first place they should go for information.”
The website, TeenSCV.com, was launched by the city of Santa Clarita in November of 2014, and it’s still a work in progress, said Hardy.
“We’re working on our social media presence for teens, and we want to continue to add to the “Things To Do” section,” Hardy said. “We want the site to be attractive to them, and we want to send messages that are relevant and specific for them.”
The website has a variety of links to information, including one that says “Need Help?”
This link takes teens to areas in Santa Clarita that can offer different resources for anything from drug addictions, domestic abuse and school information.
