City of Santa Clarita Launches Business Attraction Website

The City of Santa Clarita is proud to announce the launch of its newest domain,, which features comprehensive information about available commercial property and vacant space within the city and offers innovative mapping and demographic tools for users. The City will use the new domain to market Santa Clarita’s vacant and new development projects to targeted industries, which include aerospace, biomedical, technology, film, television and retail. The domain also allows real estate brokers to post their Santa Clarita listings for free and take advantage of the City’s marketing efforts to the identified targeted industries. Located just 30 minutes northeast of Los Angeles, Santa Clarita currently features more than 10 master-planned business parks and centers and more than 18 million square feet of office and industrial space, in addition to three million square feet of new commercial, industrial and office space currently in the development pipeline. “Santa Clarita is currently one of Southern California’s fastest growing and most desirable business communities,” said Carrie Rogers, the City’s marketing and economic development manager. “And while our vacancy rates for office, retail and industrial space remain low, we have numerous projects in development and believe this new Web site will provide an essential, up-to-the-minute link for businesses and brokers interested in available space in our City.” A few of’s most distinctive features include a mapping tool that allows users to view aerial maps of the city, in addition to providing site specific demographic and business reports highlighting zoning and land use for any parcel in the City. Several listings can be viewed simultaneously and sites can be evaluated based on traffic counts in the area or proximity to parks and schools. Users of the website will also be able to gather market information, including consumer expenditures within a particular spending category, the number and types of businesses surrounding the site and median wages for occupational categories. Also available are demographic reports for 2005 and projections for 2010 based on distance or drive time from an identified site or location. The website was created and is maintained by GIS Planning Inc. The City of Santa Clarita’s Economic Development Division focuses on attracting targeted industries and businesses, thus creating a dynamic business environment and a highly desirable job market, while preserving and enhancing the high quality of life enjoyed by our residents and businesses. “We’re excited to have the tool available for businesses and brokers looking to expand or relocate to the City and believe it will provide critical information needed to make those decisions,” Rogers added.
