City Offers Disaster Preparedness Workshop For Non-Profits

khts_inthecommunityThe City of Santa Clarita and the Emergency Network of Los Angeles are conducting a free half-day disaster plan training for faith based and non-profit organizations. The training will be held on September 21 from 8:30 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. at the City of Santa Clarita Activities Center.

The training will assist the non-profit organizations and faith based organizations in developing or enhancing their disaster plans and emergency continuity of operations. Space is limited to 50 attendees.  The deadline to register is September 13.

“These important trainings will give faith based and non-profit organizations the tools to build a more resilient and better-prepared disaster plan,” said Mayor Laurene Weste.

The preparedness training will provide a workable disaster plan template, business continuity recommendations and assist the organization in developing best practices for special needs. There will be subject experts and mentors to assist with disaster plan development.
