City Offers Excursion To Santa Ynez For Danish Days Festival

California_wine_grapes_2The City of Santa Clarita is inviting patrons to sign up for a day trip to the beautiful Santa Ynez Valley to enjoy the Danish Days Festival in Solvang, wine tasting at a local vineyard and a visit to the Chumash Casino on Saturday, September 18, 2010.  The cost is $42 per person for residents, $57 per person for non-residents, and $47 per person for non-resident seniors (55+).

Attendees can enjoy the day sampling authentic Dutch specialties, watching roving folk dancers, village singers, and cloggers, as well as shopping in the boutiques that line the streets of Solvang.  Following the festivities, you will be driven to the Gainey Vineyard for some great wine tasting and visit the Chumash Casino.  All participants must be 21 years of age or older and will be required to show proof of age prior to boarding the bus.

“The City’s trips and tours offer the community an economical way to have fun and experience something new,” said Mayor Pro-tem Marsha McLean. “With so much planned for one day, the excursion to Solvang is sure to be an exciting one.”

Departure for the excursion is from the Santa Clarita Sports Complex Activities Center on Saturday, September 18 at 7:00 a.m. Attendees will return to Santa Clarita around 7:30 p.m. The last day to register is September thirteenth at 5:00 P.M. and is available on-line at santa-clarita.com or at the Santa Clarita Aquatic Center.
